Hidden Gems
Julia is my name and I love gems! I have a story about them during a time when I was writing about all the gems in the ancient sacred scrolls such as The Bible. I wrote a book called Like Him where I write about the sacred breastplate which God Most High asks the holy priests of His Temple to adorn. 12 rare gems which shine light through them (not opaque). Anyways, it was in this context (writing about gems and The Bible) that we went to Egypt on holiday and visited Mount Saini (St Catherines Monastery site). On the walk to the Monastery a tall hooded figure approached me - I made eye contact and smiled though do not remember his face. He looked a bit like an ancient monk in a hooded habit. He held out what looked like a big round stone. I stopped and looked at it. He was silent and did not say anything. The stone had a crack around it in the middle. He took both his hands and opened the cracked part to show inside of the stone which was fabulous! The 'ordinary' stone was full of white crystals (not sure what they are to this day - may go and take to gem-ologist to check). He thrust his hand forward as if to say 'take this stone.' Instinctively I wanted to pay something for it and gave him some money - I think it was about £20 which to me was quite a bit in those days (probably 20 or more years ago). He took the money and gave me the stone. To this day I am unsure if I had not given him the money would he still have given me the stone? Probably not, but I shall never know. That is not the point of this story. The heart of the story is: do not reject things which look ordinary on the outside, especially people - some of the most ordinary people are full of heavenly fabulous treasure. We are living stones, full of beautiful heavenly treasure to be admired and cherished by God our Father. Be encouraged today. There is treasure inside your clay pot!
